Privacy policy
This policy explains how StudyKit Hub (“the site”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The site is run by Ali Hamza, an individual, not a company. You can contact us at hamzaxali44@gmail.com.
It describes how the site actually works today. It is written in plain language and is not a statement that the site complies with any particular law.
Summary
- The tools process your text inside your browser. We do not receive, see or store the text you type or paste.
- The study notes organiser saves notes in your browser's local storage, on your device only. They are not encrypted.
- The site has no accounts, no sign-in, no contact forms, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not set cookies.
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. We cannot see those logs.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply and keep it only as long as necessary.
Text you enter into the tools
The word counter, reading time calculator, case converter, duplicate line remover and whitespace cleaner run entirely in your browser. Your text is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we do not store it. It stays in the page until you clear it or leave the page.
Your browser, operating system or browser extensions may have their own features that we do not control, such as spell checking, translation, grammar tools or restoring form text after a reload. Check their settings if this matters to you.
Study notes stored on your device
The study notes organiser saves your notes in your browser's local storage under the name studykit.notes.v1. Each note contains its title, text, tags, a random ID and the times it was created and last changed. Notes are not uploaded and do not sync between devices, and we cannot access them.
- Not encrypted. Anyone who can use your browser profile may be able to read them. Avoid saving passwords or other sensitive personal information in notes.
- Own web address. The site is served from its own domain,
studykithub.online, so its local storage is not shared with other websites. Notes saved while the site was at its earlier address (hamzaxali.github.io/studykit-tools) stay in that address’s storage in your browser and do not move automatically. - Deleting notes. Notes stay until you delete them with the tool, clear this site's data in your browser settings, or your browser removes them.
- Export and import. Exported files are created on your device and saved wherever you choose. Imported files are read inside your browser and are not uploaded.
Copy buttons
When you press a Copy button, the site writes the result to your device's clipboard. The site never reads your clipboard.
Hosting and technical logs
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. When you visit, your browser sends standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. GitHub states that when a GitHub Pages site is visited, the visitor's IP address is logged and stored for security purposes (GitHub Pages data collection). GitHub handles this information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
We do not receive or have access to these logs, and we do not use any analytics service.
If you email us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, your message and anything you attach. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and, where relevant, to fix the problem you reported. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it.
We keep emails only as long as necessary for that purpose, subject to any applicable legal obligations. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages under the Google Privacy Policy. Your own email provider also processes the messages you send.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site does not set cookies and does not use tracking technologies. The study notes organiser uses your browser's local storage only to save the notes you choose to save.
Analytics and advertising
The site does not use analytics and does not show advertising. If we decide to add either in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. The only services that process information about visitors are GitHub (hosting) and Google (email), as described above. We may disclose information we hold if we are required to by law.
Where information is processed
GitHub and Google operate internationally, so information they process may be handled in countries other than your own, including the United States.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to other websites, such as GitHub and Google. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience, including students. If you are under 13, please use the site only with the permission and supervision of a parent, guardian or teacher, and do not email us personal information without their permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and its pages are set up to block connections to other servers. No website or storage method is completely secure, so please do not store or send sensitive personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can delete your notes at any time using the tool or your browser settings. You can ask us to access, correct or delete emails you have sent us by writing to hamzaxali44@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
